TWO LOONS FOR TEA & RADIO8BALL: LIVE SEATTLE VALENTINE'S DAY EVENT! Join us on Valentine's Day for a unique night of live music and experimental theater presented by Radio8Ball and Two Loons for Tea. Part musical cabaret, part mystical mind-expansion - and wholly enjoyable! The premise for the show is as simple as it is unique: a band, an audience, and the honest life-questions of audience members.
Curious? Read on:
Audience members are invited onstage to ask questions of the musical "oracle". The answer is elicited by the spinning of a carnival wheel, which selects one of the band's songs. The band plays the chosen song, and with the help of "Professor" Jones, the audience, and the musicians who wrote the song, discusses how the song's lyrics or message answer the question. The readings might be humorous or moving - sometimes both at once, or more - but surprisingly, never irrelevant.
This version of Radio8Ball is especially fascinating as the guest band itself uses such oracular methods to write their lyrics. So, expect the unexpected!

After a self-imposed three year hiatus (due to Jonathan Kochmer almost cutting off a finger), Seattle’s Two Loons for Tea return with it’s third album, Nine Lucid Dreams. Featuring Sarah Scott’s gorgeous jazz-worthy vocals and Kochmer’s inventive song structures, the duo enlist heavy hitters like Matt Chamberlain, percussionist Mike Dillon, bassist Brad Houser, string master Eyvind Kang and others to flesh out its Zero 7 inspired landscapes. In lesser hands these 12 sexy tracks with their grab bag of styles ranging from pop to jazz to trip-hop, Dixie, folk, rock and even the heavily processed, Latin-laced rumba of “Consuela” could come off as scattered, but with Kochmer and Scott leading the Loons, we get a fully realized album for sultry sunsets or sophisticated after-dark engagements.

SARATHAN RECORDS PRODUCING DOCUMENTARY FILM ON LAMONT DOZIER Sarathan Records is incredibly proud to announce that we will be producing a full-length documentary for theatrical release about the life and work of Lamont Dozier.
Lamont is best known as a member of the famed Holland-Dozier-Holland songwriting team who, while at Motown together, wrote more #1 Billboard songs than anyone else in history. What is not as well known is that Lamont has continued to write #1 songs since that time. To celebrate his 50th Anniversary in the music business, Sarathan
will release this movie and a companion CD in 2007.
Since joining the Sarathan family, Lamont has also penned lyrics and sung vocals for the upcoming Airpushers CD "Themes for the Ordinarily Strange" and subsequent remix and online exclusives. Bird up!!
SHANE BARTELL MEETS REBECCA ROMIJN
Sarathan Records goes to primetime television as Shane Bartell debuts his song, "Don't Believe Everything" on the new hit WB television series Pepper Dennis (May 9th episode). Rebecca Romijn stars in this new comedic drama that also features Brook Burns, Lindsay Price and Josh Hopkins. Check your local listings!

Bird up! Sarathan announces the signing of "Airpushers" (fronted by two members of the Black Eyed Peas' backup band, Printz Board and Tim Izo Orindgreff). Together, Printz and Tim are recording a bootay-kickin' album with some very special guests, "Themes for the Ordinarily Strange," to be released by Sarathan Records in 2006.
TWO LOONS FOR TEA STRANDED WITH CASAH PETERS The Travel Channel will be filming Sarathan Records' owner, Jonathan Kochmer, and his band, Two Loons for Tea, in the upcoming Seattle episode of "Stranded With Cash Peters."
SARATHAN SIGNS THE PURRS Sarathan Records proudly welcomes The Purrs to our growing roster. The Seattle based 4-piece has already garnered much attention and love from such influential stations as KEXP, WOXY and recently performed at KEXP's 3rd Annual Christmas Bash, sharing the bill with Okkervil River and The Wrens.
The band's psychedelic retro sound can be compared to The Dandy Warhols and Brian Jonestown Massacre, and the early sounds of The Church and Spacemen 3. In Spring of 2006, Sarathan will be releasing an enhanced version of the band's self-released debut, "The Dreams Our Stuff Is Made Of."

TRACHTENBURG FAMILY SLIDESHOW FILMING DONE Filming has been completed for the first-ever commercial DVD for indie rock’s most intriguing family, “The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players.” The show was shot earlier this summer at Lamb's Theatre in New York City. In addition to a live performance, the DVD will feature interviews by friends, family and celebrities, a documentation of a day-in-the-life of the family at home and on the road, as well as a variety of fun interactive features. Look for the DVD in stores, 2006.
SHANE BARTELL FINISHES HIS SARATHAN DEBUT "TOO SOON TO SAY" Shane Bartell has completed his much anticipated Sarathan debut, “Too Soon to Say,” which will be released in 2006. In the meantime, Shane will be selling a collectible limited edition EP available at his shows and here on the Sarathan website, and will be starting recording of a second album in January in San Miguel Allende Guanajuato, Mexico.
CHRISOPHER BLUE IN THE STUDIO Sensation Junkies and lead singer Chrisopher Blue are currently writing and recording two follow-up albums to 2004’s “Once for the Money.” Frontman Chrisopher Blue is recording a rootsy album for release in Spring 2006, and Sensation Junkies are exploding headphones and studio monitors writing new materials with a new lineup. Look for the Sensation Junkies this Fall as they tour with popular U.K. garage rockers, The Thieves.
TWO LOONS FOR TEA WRITING AND RECORDING THEIR THIRD ALBUM Dreampop darlings Two Loons for Tea are currently writing and recording their 3rd album in Seattle and Los Angeles. The album was started at Willie Nelson's Pedernales Ranch. Building on the critical success of their sophomore release, “Looking For Landmarks,” Two Loons is creating some of their most exciting and moving songs yet, with their usual star-studded cast of backup musicians, now including members of Soul Coughing and Fiona Apple's band. The album will be produced by Eric Rosse, known for his work with Tori Amos and Chris Isaak.
